Learning Level: 1. Introductory
Included with: Premier Pass,Essentials Pass

This session will explore the critical importance of Universal Design for accessibility, tackling common misconceptions and highlighting the need for universal design, even in the absence of full support. We'll focus on how straightforward technological innovations, like interactive displays and speech-to-text capabilities, can transform accommodations and enhance learning experiences.

We'll address instructors' concerns, providing strategies to navigate them effectively, and share a cost-effective UD design model for a 30-person classroom. Grounded in the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, we'll discuss how thoughtfully designed educational environments eliminate barriers and elevate strengths, ensuring accessibility for all.

With legal mandates like Title II of the ADA emphasizing accessible course materials, we'll explore how to future-proof your institution's AV systems, incorporating features such as automatic lecture capture and AI assistance. By collaborating with faculty and teaching centers, institutions can implement comprehensive systems that not only meet legal requirements but also enrich the educational journey for every student.

Admission is subject to room capacity and available on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
