Esports is a topic that is at the forefront of educational institutions, communities centers, and private organizations across the globe. Year over year more and more institutions are deploying esports programs and facilities. But starting an esports program requires a deeper understanding of the industry landscape. With over 200 active esports programs, colleges and universities are diversifying their offerings to students from competition to career development. Esports is a great way for students to tap into their passion for gaming while building valuable skills such as content creation, broadcasting, marketing, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration.
This session focuses on an industry approach when considering the next steps in developing an esports program. From competition to curriculum, audiovisual integration plays a key role in these unique and complicated spaces.
Joshua will give insight from his experience as a competitive gamer and his methodology in designing and developing over 100+ esports programs as CEO of Esports Integration and Horizon AVL.
