If the pandemic taught educators anything, it was that students want to be able to tailor their experience based on their preferences, whether that be pre-planning how they might want to attend class or deciding the hour before class what works best for them. The perceived negative stigma of students attending their coursework online is diminishing, as this is now common for the modern day workforce as well. Institutions must take this post pandemic reality as the impetus for recreating and redefining the value of higher education and to invest in strengthening tools for improved student success. This session will highlight the design of learning space technology to support an equitable experience for both physical and remote students to achieve an optimal level of learning. The session will also highlight the faculty experience in designing for a HyFlex space that allows the instructor to focus on pedagogy instead of complex technology.
