Learning Spaces
There was a need for a technology-based innovation that facilitated hybrid synchronous delivery in classrooms. It was visualized that some students may physically be sitting in classrooms in a socially distanced way while the remaining participated remotely from their homes with the need to bringing the classroom experience to them. Post-pandemic Seneca College is offering more and more hybrid courses in flexible formats using HyFlex-enabled classrooms. To provide these new learning formats, Seneca had to add technology in classrooms and labs across our campuses. We had to collaborate with our academic stakeholders, schedulers and facilities to ensure we were meeting their timelines with having classrooms and labs equipped with flexible technology. By updating our spaces, the college was successful in creating an immersive experience for students (online remote and in class) and for instructors to deliver the course successfully without impact using the updated technology.
