Session Description : LED displays are the hottest topic in pro AV, and it is growing in double digits. The benefits of LED displays are front and center. It is seamless, nearly limitless in size and shape, and produces colorful, high contrast images with brightness levels to fit high ambient light environments. Many of us are display experts at some level and we are comfortable in what we know but LED is different than our existing technologies. This course delves into the differences and what we don’t know but need to know. It presents a vendor neutral discussion of LED quality, life cycles, systems design, installation, and service support. Knowing what we do not know in LED is the key to assessing our risk and probability of success. In dvLED separating the good from the bad is job one. The biggest concerns should be quality, performance, and serviceability but price is right up there with them. The price challenge: Spend no more than you should and no less than you need. The overall “sweet spot” is where you want to be. Our advice… if you do not know dvLED work with someone who does.
