Digital Signage
Following the pandemic, consumer shopping behaviors shifted in favor of ecommerce. That’s changing, thanks to new AV technologies delivering novel in-person experiences that combine the info-gathering power of the internet with the excitement of being able to touch and try a product. The latest example is the Citizen Watch shop in a major Herald Square department store in New York City, which recently installed one of the world’s first consumer-facing augmented reality product display cases. Leveraging Transparent OLED technology, the retail display overlays mesmerizing high-impact digital visuals onto a watch display case to pull the viewer in as it showcases the real watches behind the graphics. This case-study specific panel will feature a discussion and slideshow presentation with representatives from Luminary Design Co. and LG Business Solutions. They will discuss the unique interests, requirements and expertise brought to the project – with metrics on the increase in shopper engagement as a result. In addition to illuminating the project itself with images to supplement, the session will serve as an insightful look into designing engaging brick-and-mortar retail spaces with digital signage, with an emphasis on how critical collaboration is between the design and AV communities.
