Session Description : USB Type-C was released 2016 and since then it’s grown by leaps and bounds. With announced inclusion on the Apple iPhone 15 USB Type-C has embraced its “universal” moniker and is now found on virtually every laptop, tablet and smartphone worldwide. This change in connectivity creates a challenge for AV system integrators and designers. How can one port that delivers a plethora of often incompatible protocols be effectively deployed in classrooms, meeting rooms and huddle spaces?
In this fast-paced course we’ll explore USB Type-C as an AV signal transport method, examine the challenges associated with multiple user configurations, find solutions that work today and identify trends that will impact how we prepare for tomorrow.
Remember, once upon a time we hadn’t heard of HDMI. Then, just a few short years later, we had to struggle to design and deploy infrastructure that could accommodate the ever-growing need for high performance digital video in classrooms and conference rooms. That same challenge is upon us again, but this time with a much smaller and more powerful port.
