Session Description : As AV moves more to network distribution of signals the importance of a deeper understanding of multicast networks is key to successful deployments of AV over IP. This class focuses on an important aspect of multicast networks, IGMP Querier and Snooping settings. Often, AV over IP manufactures provide a checklist approach to configuring the managed switches required. They seldom provide any deep knowledge about what those settings mean or how to confirm they are operational. This session will deep dive into the Querier and Snooping settings on a managed network switch and will provide the learner with deeper knowledge of what these are, how they apply to AV over IP, and how to use the network to confirm operation of these critical settings in a non-manufacturer specific format.
