Enterprise IT
Quality of Service (QoS) is critical in the deployment of networked AV systems that provide real-time low latency media delivery. The concept and technical details of QoS are often misunderstood and create a challenge for systems configuration and for coordination between AV and IT professionals. This session will explain QoS and its application for traffic prioritization on AV networks. The session will discuss what QoS can do as much as what it doesn't do and clarify some of the most common misconceptions about its application. It will also provide useful technical terminology and knowledge to empower the AV professional for better communication with the IT professional.
Learning Objectives
  • Understand the scope and limitations of QoS for traffic prioritization on AV networks.
  • Feel empowered to engage in technical conversations regarding QoS with IT professionals for the integration of AV systems on converged
  • Modify the segregated approach to AV networks and instead design systems and networks where QoS allows traffic to coexist on
