Education Session
Content Production and Streaming Live Events
Session Description : The successful and ongoing interconnection of a dozen-plus offices at Stripe, Inc. for remote production is examined as a step-by-step case study. The resulting system allows Audio/Video-over-IP content to be securely and reliably streamed across the public internet across sites with sufficient quality yet minimal latency allowing proactive remote production including camera control. Remote content can easily be made available on the local network at each site as if it were native to that LAN. We examine the motivations for the effort, enabling technologies, selected vendors/products, and lessons learned from this remarkable and living project.
Learning Objectives
  • Recognize customer need for a remote production workflow and assess the balance of automation vs flexibility suitable to the customer's manpower and expertise
  • Differentiate networked a/v streaming protocols suitable for reliable transport across the public internet, discriminate their applicability to specific use cases, and identify compatible hardware and software
  • Develop an action plan including the necessary further research to estimate and design the on-site AV signal flow and remote production components
