This session follows up on Understanding Personality Types for Increased Productivity and Success. It builds upon the foundational concepts of reading one's personality type and making adjustments to work effectively with people of differing types, explicitly applying them to the AV industry.

Effective communication, servicing clients, working in teams, building relationships, and managing projects depend on working well with others.

Since the world is comprised of a wide variety of individuals, it can be challenging to get along and thrive in interpersonal situations. This is especially true when considering multidisciplinary activities or work teams involving sales, marketing, engineering, project management, and programming, such as those in the AV industry.

Salespeople, marketers, project managers, engineers, programmers, technicians, financial professionals, logistics and operations professionals, and administrators have distinct strengths related to their personality types that make them successful in their roles.  These strengths and their corresponding areas of weakness also present challenges in relating to others in dissimilar roles.

By understanding how a person is “wired”, challenges can be overcome, leading to successful engagement and outcomes. It all starts with first understanding your own makeup and how you are received by others. Then, through the ability to assess other peoples’ personalities, adjustments can be made in communication styles, approaches, and tempo to yield positive and productive results.

This interactive session will use personality profiles to demonstrate the behavioral differences between typical roles in the AV industry and apply this knowledge to day-to-day business, explaining how to work together effectively and achieve common goals.
