This session is designed to enhance and develop your proactive problem-solving skills, focusing on improving crisis management strategies and creating comprehensive plans to minimize the impact of disruptions. We will cover essential topics such as defining a realistic budget and establishing an event contingency planning team that incorporates members of the events team. The plan we develop will act as a critical guide, prioritizing contingencies to help organizers adapt and respond promptly. Our goal is to minimize disruptions, maintain safety, and ensure the event's successful execution regardless of the challenges faced.

Key scenarios like adverse weather conditions, potential equipment malfunctions or power outages, and relationships with suppliers, caterers, decorators, entertainers, and equipment providers will be discussed. We will also address health and safety emergencies, including medical incidents, fire outbreaks, security breaches, evacuation procedures, and potential travel disruptions for attendees or speakers. Additionally, we emphasize the importance of conducting a run-of-show and rehearsals to identify any issues, as well as anticipating "Oh! By The Way" (OBTW) moments.
