Come to this presentation to gain familiarity with tools and techniques to support fiber optic cabling from design to installation to troubleshooting. This presentation will cover basic troubleshooting, is there light coming out? to more sophisticated troubleshooting, where is the fiber broken.

Not everyone needs to use an OTDR, an Optical Time Domain Reflectometer, we might be able to solve a fiber issue with a simple cleaning tool. If you do need to go to an OTDR, we will look at the right way to use it.

This presentation will cover design considerations, what application do you need to support? What kind of fiber will meet those requirements, and how to do you know if the fiber you have was properly installed. 

Finally, we will look at what are the basic tools that anyone who works with fiber should have in their tool kit.
