Behind the Scenes at TED: Designing Resilient Communication Networks
Global productions like TED require flawless communication across multiple teams, all operating in real time. This session explores the communication network design principles that make that possible.
Led by Mina Sabet, Head of Production at TED, attendees will gain an inside look at how her team supports hundreds of creative and technical professionals during a multi-stage live event. Sabet will discuss multiple aspects of the technical process including system design and real-time adaptability. She will also share how they engineered a communications environment capable of scaling, integrating with other AV systems, and supporting evolving show demands.
Participants will walk away with practical takeaways for designing their own resilient workflows, covering planning, IP-based interconnectivity, hybrid production environments, and strategies for managing communication channels across multiple locations.
This is a vendor-neutral, process-focused session intended for AV professionals who design, integrate, or operate large-scale live events, conferences, and broadcast environments.
