Designing Effective Blended-Modality Classrooms
Tufts University has pioneered a 4th generation blended modality classroom using a design thinking process. This innovative setup enables both local and remote participants to fully engage with presenters and each other, share screens, and participate in group activities. Rather than starting with technology, the focus is on pedagogy, ensuring that all technological choices support effective teaching and learning.
You will learn best practices through case studies, interactive exercises, and discussions with Tufts' Design, Support, and Operations team. This session will clarify what distinguishes a teaching space from a conference room and how Tufts integrates various pedagogical methods in blended settings. And, we will cover just what differentiates a blended classroom from hybrid, hyflex, and other educational models.
