Understanding Intelligent Video Systems - From Single-Camera Solutions to Fully-Custom Integrations
Gone are the days where remote participants would be satisfied with a simple wide-shot of the conference room from a webcam perched atop the display. With the proliferation of hybrid work, remote participants demand meeting equity.
But how do you know what camera solutions to deploy? What are the differences between Group Framing, Speaker Tracking, Presenter Tracking, Group Tracking, and Participant Framing? What about Intelligent Director, IntelliFrame, or Multi-Camera modes? And how does AI fit into all of this?
What are the pros and cons to single-camera solutions vs multi-camera kits? How much difference do those center-of-table companion cameras make? What about one of those big fancy custom solutions? When are those appropriate and what are the important considerations we should make when designing them?
In this session, we'll break this complicated topic down, starting by defining the terms and giving actual examples of what each of these framing/tracking modes look like in practice. Then we'll work through an overview of how these are implemented across different types of camera solutions, with important considerations and constraints you'll want to keep in mind when designing & deploying these systems for different applications.
We'll examine direct comparative examples of different leading intelligent video solutions in the same test environment, produced as part of an industry-first intelligent video comparative shootout. (DISCLOSURE: A number of these intelligent video solutions were provided by their manufacturers specifically for this independent comparative testing.)
Note: This session is intended to be neutral and not biased towards or against any particular manufacturer or product, but specific examples will be used to demonstrate differences in functionality or important factors to consider when designing such a system for different applications.
Every application is different, but the goal of this session is to provide attendees (both from the integrator side and the end-user side) with the foundation to ask the right questions when planning for a conferencing system using Intelligent Video in order to maximize success and end user satisfaction.
