Using Network Filters, AV Over IP Meets Access Control Lists
Most AV pros who work with networks know about filters and access control lists. Few AV pros utilize them to keep their AV Over IP networks running smoothly. These filters can make complex decisions about what traffic passes or gets blocked. This session will demystify these seemingly complex ideas by helping participants understand why and how to utilize them. There will be a focus on multicast-based filters. Several real-world multicast addresses you should know will be identified and explained what they can do on the network. The session will differentiate between ingress and egress filters, it will explain how to determine if a specific switch offers the filters you need, and it will help determine the unique differences between unicast and multicast filters. For the more network inclined in the audience all of this refers to building appropriate access control lists for audiovisual networks.
This session is repeated from last year's similar session which was well attended and highly rated. Don't miss your opportunity to learn about Network Filters and how they can improve your AVoIP systems.
The presenter brings over 10 years experience as a networking instructor at prior Infocomms and is ready to share real experience and guidance.
