Cathy Richards-Ingram is the Audio Visual Systems Engineer at Avalara. In her role, she oversees the design and implementation of audio and visual solutions for global conferencing, and AV support for large events and executive meetings, both in-person and virtual, across the world. Her passion for audio-visual technology stems from her background in choreography and technical theater. Her expertise spans several disciplines, including stage design, UX/UI, and interaction design. She has a unique perspective on how users inhabit and interact with space and technology, which has helped her in designing solutions that enhance the overall user experience. Cathy is particularly excited about the recent developments in technology that support the hybrid work environment. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of remote work, and she spends much of her time considering design solutions that enable people to work efficiently from home as well as in the office. In addition to her work, Cathy is an active member of several organizations that celebrate women in technology. She believes in empowering women to take on leadership roles in the industry, and creating a support system to lift others as we climb.
