Chris Roysden
Chris Roysden, CTS, began his career at NI (now a part of Emerson) in 2005, starting in sales and then joining the Video Production Team in late 2006. He earned his CTS certification in 2011. Currently, Chris manages the team's studio space and focuses on producing webinars and live virtual events and in person events. He also helps out with other video projects the team is working on.
Since joining the Video team at NI, Chris has held a pivotal role of ensuring the success of the general sessions at NI's annual user conference, NI Connect. Originally called NIWeek, the event draws engineers from around the world to learn about the latest developments in automated test and automated measurement systems. With audiences of up to 5,000 in person attendees, each general session has showcased up to 15 technical demos on stage helping show attendees our latest technology updates and what our customers are doing with our products. Chris has been the key integration point between NI and the production vendor, creating a clear pathway for communication and ensuring the success of the production for both NI and our vendor. Managing rehearsal and production schedules, preparing show documents such as run of show and stage layouts, and creating or collecting final content for use in the production are just some of the tasks Chris takes on. While at the event, Chris also integrates himself with the production team to ensure a seamless and timely pathway for communication and decision making. Most importantly, Chris ensures the production team has time for bio breaks and provides meals and scheduled downtime for them to eat (because he knows what's really keeps the crew happy).
Some high points in his career have been the successful execution of a conference with 13 general sessions each averaging demos stations and all of their rehearsals all on the same stage within 6 days, producing a pre-recorded virtual rebrand launch event during the COVID lock downs in 2019, concepting and producing NI's first global live virtual NI Connect in 2021 that included 3 live events with live translation in 24 hrs, and redefining NI Connect in 2022 as it moved back to an in person event.
When not producing videos or events from the NI studio, Chris spends time with his family (but they all know he is actually thinking about the next event he is about to start working on).
