Jim Wellings is an AV systems designer and programmer specializing in Higher Education spaces. Formerly a senior classroom and AV systems designer and programmer at Utah State University, he started his career in technical theatre, specializing in lighting design, media, and live audio. Entertainment tech still influences his approach to AV, and live sound mixing has lowered his tolerance for bad audio, earning the occasional rolled eye of coworkers. Incorporating best practices from a Universal Design process, systems design, and entertainment production are all part of his toolset when creating an experience for learners and instructors. In addition to being a full time AV nerd, he engineers live sound and freelances in broadcast television production.
