John Pfeffer
John Pfeffer is an experienced audiovisual and educational technology leader with more than two decades of service at the University at Buffalo. As Principal Technology Architect and former Technology Program Manager, he has led the design and implementation of hundreds of technology-enhanced learning environments, integrating solutions such as AVoIP, virtual and augmented reality systems, and direct-view LED displays. His work bridges pedagogy and technology—developing standards for active learning classrooms, simulation labs, and collaborative spaces that advance the student experience. Pfeffer has presented nationally on topics including “AV-as-a-Service,” “Active Learning Design,” and “AR/VR in Higher Ed,” and holds InfoComm CTS certification. A recognized thought leader in higher-education AV integration, he continues to drive innovation that connects teaching, learning, and technology across the academic landscape.
