Julian Phillips is Senior Vice President and Managing Director of XTG at AVI-SPL, where he leads the global Experience Technology Group in designing intelligent, human-centered environments for the world’s most innovative organizations. With more than three decades of leadership in the AV and experience-technology industries, Julian has been a driving force in advancing the profession from systems integration to intelligent, data-powered experience design.

A former Chairman of AVIXA, Julian played a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the global AV industry, guiding it through the convergence of digital experience, architectural collaboration, and workplace transformation. His contributions to the field have earned him recognition as an SCN Hall of Fame inductee and an AV Living Legend, celebrating a career dedicated to elevating technology as a catalyst for human connection and impact.

Julian is also co-author of LevAIthan: A Brief History of Humanity and AI, an exploration of the evolving relationship between human agency and artificial intelligence. In the book and his industry work, he introduces the concept of datagentism, a transformative framework for intelligent environments where AV systems move beyond information delivery to become adaptive, context-aware, and autonomous collaborators. His co-author is his AI, "Athena", who will also co-present with him.
