Kameesha Jones is an accomplished AV Project Manager at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami, FL, where she oversees AV operations for the university’s student centers. In this role, she serves as the AV liaison for clients hosting events at FIU, ensuring seamless and impactful audiovisual experiences. Outside of FIU, Kameesha is also an event tech for the Miami Heat and the Kaseya Center, playing an integral part on the broadcasting team to elevate the audience experience at basketball games and concerts.

Kameesha’s diverse career includes AV roles at prestigious venues like New York University, where she worked with civil rights activist Angela Davis and rap artist Meek Mill, as well as at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, supporting events such as operas and grand openings for exhibitions. She holds a master’s degree in Music Production and Management from FIU and a bachelor’s degree in Music Technology from Bethune-Cookman University. Recently, Kameesha assisted with the renovation of FIU’s ballrooms, integrating new AV equipment for enhanced event capabilities.

A leader in her field, Kameesha serves as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee Chair for the Higher Education Technology Managers Alliance (HETMA). Her dedication to DEI is matched by numerous recognitions, including Higher Ed AV Professional of the Year and Commercial Integrator’s 40 Influencers Under 40.

In her free time, Kameesha volunteers with her local high school’s music department, teaching saxophone master classes and mentoring young girls in urban communities. She has helped over 100 girls enroll in college over the past four years. Kameesha aspires to be a driving force in the higher education AV community, advocating for DEI initiatives and making a lasting impact in the industry.
