Karen Ethier
Karen Ethier has 25 years of experience in IT and/or Audio Visual. She currently serves as the Senior Director of Support Services for Information Technology at Roger Williams University. Her areas of oversight include helpdesk, desktop support, and classroom/event support. Reporting to the CIO, Karen works collaboratively on departmental and University committees, manages technology installations and other projects, and is heavily involved in strategic planning efforts.
Karen also serves as the Search Advocacy Coordinator at Roger Williams University, training and supporting faculty and staff to serve as equity process advisors to all University search committees. Over the past few years, Karen has served as an equity advisor on searches at all levels of RWU and has taught or presented on a variety of DEIB topics to RWU students, faculty, staff, and external professional organizations.
Additionally, Karen is currently President-Elect of Educational Technology Collaborative (ETC).
Karen has a BA in Sociology from the University of Rhode Island and a Master’s in Teaching from Roger Williams University.
