Kate has always been fascinated by the ways in which we communicate through technology. After graduating from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication, she worked for a small community college as a control room operator for televised classes. During that time, she was introduced to the world of integrated AV systems and her passion was sparked. Kate worked as a service technician for a commercial AV integrator for 7 years until becoming a full-time control system programmer for Root Integrated Systems in 2019. Now manager of the User Experience Engineering department at Root, she gets to help craft exceptional user experiences for Root's corporate, education, and government clients. She have been a guest on several podcasts including A State of Control and Ask the Programmer and was honored by Commercial Integrator on their list of 40 Influencers Under 40 in 2022.
