Matt Kaminski - University of California Berkeley

Matt Kaminski

Audio Visual and Digital Services Program Director, University of California Berkeley
United States

Matt is the Audio Visual and Digital Services Program Director with the College of Computing, Data Science and Society—the first new college established on UC Berkeley's campus in 50 years.

He will be joining CDSS in June 2025, freshly leaving his position at the School of Optometry. This innovative institution will serve more than 2,000 students and 300 faculty and staff members, with a new state-of-the-art building called "The Gateway" set to open in Spring 2026.

Autodidact, curious and always questioning the status quo, Matt has been seen as a positive disruptor and entrepreneurial in places where bureaucracy and business politics might take the place of big ideas. A French-born professional who relocated to the United States, he began his UC Berkeley career at the School of Public Health Dean's Office, providing operations, AV and administrative support for the C-suite. He then moved to the Haas School of Business as the Operation Manager and Board Senior Administrative Officer for Development and Alumni Relations.

With his growing focus on educational technology and digital services, Matt joined the School of Optometry & Vision Science in March 2020, where he quickly adapted to the COVID pandemic by deploying online continuing education programs.

As the Program Director of the Office of Learning Initiatives, he oversaw online programs and audiovisual aspects of the School.

His expertise in AV technology, online education platforms, and digital learning solutions will now support Berkeley's newest college's innovative educational mission.
