Matthew Ward
Matthew Ward plays with light, with a distinguished professional background in theater and live performance technology. Driven by a keen interest in environmental design, he has spent over 25 years exploring the integration of technology and design to enhance spaces and experiences. Central to his work is the unique role that light plays in the world of live events.
In 2002, Matthew founded Tekamaki, an innovative company that delivered significant projector blending projects. His team's work at Electronic Arts' 2005 E3 show featured a groundbreaking 360-degree projection surface with multi-channel sound.
As a co-founder of Element Labs, Matthew positioned the company at the convergence of lighting and video. Element Labs introduced market-defining products such as VersaTILE, VersaTUBE, Stealth, and Cobra, earning multiple patents and industry recognition from 2003 to 2008.
Presently, Matthew’s focus is on emerging technologies, a role which he plays for the Fuse Technical Group. In addition, he runs Superlumenary, a respected product design and consulting company, and is a co-founder of the Sandbox Light Engineering Corporation, to which he brings vast experience and boundary pushing bona fides. Matthew is also a board member of frame:work - a community of live and virtual pixel makers.
