Sherri Beck has held positions in the telecommunications industry for the past 30 years, always in roles that contribute to the success and development of others. In her current role as Director of Learning & Development at AVI-SPL, she manages training and career development opportunities for the company’s 4,100 employees globally. As an L&D professional, Beck collaborates with leadership in evaluating and implementing new products, processes and learning strategies. She has worked in the AV industry for 5 years and is passionate about ensuring employees have access to the tools, resources and training necessary to set them up for success in their current and future roles in AV. Previously, Beck was Sr. Director of Learning and Development for Charter Communications, a high-speed broadband, cable and digital phone provider. She enhanced learning programs including onboarding new employees, instructor-led facilitation, leadership development and instructional design. Beck attended Florida Atlantic University and the University of Florida receiving her B.A. in Communications and Multimedia Studies. Beck is a certified facilitator for the Achieve Global Customer Service Excellence and Leadership series and Ken Blanchard’s Situational Leadership II. She also holds a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Workplace Certificate from the University of South Florida. Beck is a co-leader for the AVIXA Women’s Council – Tampa, serves on the AVIXA Membership Committee and previously served on the AVIXA Foundation Board. She serves on the Florida Board of Women in Cable & Telecommunications. She was a member of the Bright House Networks Women’s Leadership program serving as both program advisor and mentor for over 5 years. She currently manages the AVI-SPL Mentoring Program, now in it’s third year with over 60 mentees paired with leaders across the organization. Beck currently lives in Tampa, FL with her husband Gary. She has three grown children and one very spoiled dog.
